An account is a means of identification for a player. All players are automatically assigned an account upon completing the tutorial. Through accounts, players can create levels, make and send emblems, play online levels, and more.

After creating an account, you automatically have the username of the Player ID of your account out of 8 digits. (for example: 00081935) and you can change it for free the first time, but it costs 25 
after that.
When making an account, the only tutorial you're forced to do is the gameplay tutorial. There is a way to skip this, however; by pressing an invisible button in the top-left corner in the logged off screen. The "Help" section, found in the game's settings, has further tips on how to play the game.
To access an account on a different device, you must press "Load", and type in your player ID and your password. If already logged into a different account, you can switch by pressing "Account" in Settings, and pressing "Load Account."

An account is required to play the game. Without it, you cannot access the game past the official tutorial, however one is created automatically when you complete the tutorial.
